Senators Jinggoy Estrada (leftmost) and Juan Ponce Enrile (rightmost) may land in jail if plunder charges, a non-bailable offense, are filed against them. The two, along with Sen. Bong Revilla, have been named by whistleblowers and alleged pork scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles as the lawmakers who accepted bribes for ghost projects. MANILA (Mabuhay) – Vice President Jejomar Binay denied Wednesday the statement of former vice mayor Ernesto Mercado that it was normal in Makati for the officials to get kickbacks from projects.

“He is talking from his personal experience. ‘Yun ang basehan ng kanyang espekulasyon. It is one thing to accuse (and another) thing to prove,” he said.

On the allegation of Mercado that Binay has motive to kill him, the vice president said “you should know more about the guy.”

He said his detractors will move to remove him from his post.

“Meron pang gagawin sila upang ako ay hindi magtagal sa puwesto,” he said. (MNS)
