Summer Advanced Indonesian Abroad Program 2013
For Students, Teachers, Educational Administrators,
and Independent Scholars
Program Dates: June 17 – August 8, 2013
Location: Language Center, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia

Language immersion program for participants who have completed at least Intermediate level in Indonesian.
Fulbright-Hays Fellowships: For U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents, fellowship funding is available for this program from the U.S. Department of Education’s Fulbright Hays Group Projects Abroad which covers full tuition, homestays, books and other classroom materials, plus round-trip international airfare from the U.S. to Indonesia, and related ground transportation.
Other Funding Options: Applicants may also be admitted who have their own funding for transportation, tuition, and homestays. Qualified students can use Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships from their home institutions, Boren fellowships, or university or private funding to cover these items. All of these funding options should be applied for separately.

Program Sponsor: The Consortium for the Teaching of Indonesian (COTI) includes those U.S. universities which provide regular instruction in Indonesian language: Arizona State University; Cornell University; Johns Hopkins University; Northern Illinois University; Ohio University; University of California, Berkeley; University of California, Los Angeles; University of Hawai’i; University of Michigan; University of Washington; University of Wisconsin-Madison; and Yale University. Additional program support received from Dr. Robert Lemelson through the UCLA Indonesian Studies Program.
