Showbiz update: Sarah and Gerald’s ‘good chemistry’

Newest love team Gerald Anderson and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo reacted to talks saying that they have good chemistry on-screen as seen in their film’s teasers.

Anderson, Milby and Geronimo are starring together for the first time in Star Cinema’s upcoming movie “Catch Me, I’m in Love.”

During the photo shoot for the said movie, the two expressed happiness over the positive feedback.

“Talaga? Wow! Relieved kami. Kahit paano masaya na din kami na ganoon ang reaksyon ng mga tao,” Geronimo said.

“Sa lahat ng pagod at pinaghirapan namin, I’m sure matutuwa ang mga tao. At ito ang first time naming magkasama ni Sarah at sa movie pa, so kami din excited,” Anderson added.

Coming from successful team-ups with John Lloyd Cruz and Kim Chiu, Geronimo and Anderson admitted that it will be a big challenge for them to surpass the success of their previous movies with their former partners.

“Panibagong challenge. And it’s good kasi galing ako kay Kim at siya, ‘yung movie niya with John Lloyd. So bagong challenge,” Anderson said.

Asked if Anderson already convinced the Pop Star Princess to do a kissing scene with him, the actor replied: “Let’s see what happens.”

Directed by Mae Cruz, “Catch Me, I’m in Love,” which is the first on-screen collaboration of Geronimo and Anderson, will hit theaters on March 23.

“Ito ‘yong first time na magkasama kami ni Sarah ever and sa movie pa kaya kami excited,” Anderson said.

Geronimo, on the other hand, shared that working with Anderson is a breeze. She said her leading man is a “gentleman” and “professional” actor.

“Nabawasan na po ‘yong ilangan. Nahahampas ko na siya. Okay na kami, mas komportable kami sa isa’t isa. Ngayon lang kami nakakapag-usap. Surprisingly, okay naman, parang matagal na rin kaming nagka-trabaho. Mukhang okay naman kay direk ‘yong performances namin,” said Geronimo.

“Kapag nasa set na kami talagang mararamdaman mo ‘yong dedication niya para mapaganda yong trabaho niya, napaka-professional,” she added.

Anderson affirmed their good working relationship.

“Nag-shooting kami sa Tanay for four days straight, ‘di kami umuwi kaya doon kami naging close lahat,” he said.

He even praised Geronimo for being “focused” and “down to earth.”

“Nakita ko na talagang focused siya. Talagang she will make it sure na maganda ang kalabasan noong project namin. Alam naman natin na superstar siya pero kapag magkasama kami, hindi mo mararamdaman kasi super down to earth siya” he said.

Will they have a kissing scene in the movie?

Anderson said: “Hindi pa tapos [ang shooting], 50% percent pa lang, but we will see.”

“Hindi ko po alam. Hindi po namin alam ang magiging ending,” Geronimo chimed in.

Veteran actress Dawn Zulueta and bankable actor Christopher de Leon are also part of Star Cinema and Viva Films’ summer offering.

Directed by Mae Cruz, “Catch Me… I’m In Love” will premiere on March 23 in over 100 theaters nationwide.

Vilma Santos mum on Angel-Luis ‘relationship

MANILA, Mar 2 (Mabuhay) – Star for All Seasons and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos is keeping her silence amid rumors that Luis Manzano and Angel Locsin have rekindled their romance.

Santos said she would rather not interfere with her son’s love life.

“I don’t meddle. If it’s meant to be, it (will happen). Kapag hindi naman, let them be friends,” the governor said. “Sabi nga nila Lucky (Manzano) my lips are sealed…Kung ayaw niya, ayoko ding magsalita.”

Santos said whatever happens she will always be there for her son.

“I don’t usually meddle pero kapag malungkot siya or masaya siya ay lagi akong kasama. Sometimes I’m a friend, sometimes kabarkada ako, sometimes nanay ako na, ‘No, no, no anak,'” said the governor.

She maintained that what matters most is her son’s happiness. “Basta sa akin maligaya ang anak ko. He’s taking his time. Mina-manage niya ang sarili niya…And I can see he’s very happy.”

Santos attended the premiere of Manzano’s latest movie, “Who’s That Girl?,” which also features Anne Curtis.

The actress said she has asked the permission of her constituents before attending the event. “Kasi it’s working day but nagpaalam ako na this time kailangan ako ng anak ko. So, priority muna ang anak ko ngayon.”

In a separate interview, Manzano admitted that he and Locsin are friends again. “We are friends definitely,” he said.

When asked to define their friendship right now, the actor just gave a mysterious smile.

“Whatever that smile mean to you or to the viewers, hayaan na natin yon,” he said.
Meantime, Santos reacted to her son’s friendship with Curtis.

“Soul mate ang dalawang ‘yon, ako testigo ako doon. Kasi even the time na si Anne ay wala dito ang pamilya, sa amin sila nag-Christmas. So talagang soul mate at ang friendship ay ibang klase” she said.”Bihira ‘yong ganoong friendship, sana tumagal.”

As for her own project, Santos is set to do a movie that will be directed by Chito S. Roño. (MNS)
