MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta is the latest showbiz personality to lend support to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayan region.
In a Twitter post, the Kapatid actress-singer donated P5 million each to the Aboitiz Foundation and Alagang Kapatid Foundation of TV5.
“I just want to let you all know that you can trust the Aboitiz foundation and the Alagang Kapatid foundation of TV5. Sigurado pong makakaabot sa mga nangangailangan sa Visayas ang inyong donasyon! Thank you,” she said in a separate post.
Sharon had been the endorser of Aboitiz Group’s SuperFerry shipping line.
Aside from her personal help to the victims of the typhoon, the Megastar also posted details on how to give cash or in kind donations to concerned organizations.
She’s also retweeted posts on missing persons in Tacloban, Samar and Leyte.
Aside from Sharon, television host and actress Anne Curtis will donate her talent fee in her upcoming “AnneBisyosa: No Other Concert” in Doha, Qatar to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
Anne said that aside from her salary, the organizers of the show agreed to give a portion from the tickets sold to typhoon-hit Tacloban City.
To recall, the actress, together with sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith and boyfriend Erwann Heussaff organized a garage sale last Sunday at Market, Market in Taguig City. The said drive raised P370.000.
Meanwhile, Anne’s “It’s Showtime” co-hosts Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario and Billy Crawford will organize a fundraising basketball tournament to raise funds for the typhoon victims.
Vice Ganda and singer Karylle are also doing separate fundraising drives for the Visayas.
Other celebrities who already lend help to victims of typhoon Yolanda are Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Aiko Melendez, Rhian Ramos, and showbiz couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. (MNS)
