MANILA (Mabuhay) – An emotional Makati Rep. Abigail Binay admitted Tuesday that she was hurt by the accusations hurled against her by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano whom she considers as a friend.
“Masakit yung ginagawa nila sa akin,” Binay told Senate reporters.
In between sobs, she said Cayetano could have called her to clarify the issue but the latter failed to do so.
Cayetano earlier pointed to Binay as behind the filing of plunder and graft charges against him and his wife, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano.
“Magkaibigan kami … bakit hindi niya ako tawagan?” she lamented.
Binay said the Cayetanos are close to her heart.
“Personal ko silang pinapasok sa buhay ko and masakit po yung ginagawa nila talaga sa akin. Kahit nung tinitira nila si VP (Vice President Jejomar Binay), yung kapatid ko (Mayor Junjun Binay), wala silang narinig sa akin dahil nga po magkaibigan kami. Pero ngayong ako na ang idinadamay nila kailangan ko na po yatang lumaban. Kailangan ko na ring magsalita,” Binay said.
She said she will confront Cayetano.
“I heard that he mentioned my name during the last hearing. Before or after ng hearing, lalapitan ko siya para magkaliwanagan kaming dalawa. Nagulat ako bakit ako sinasangkot,” she said.
Binay reiterated that she has nothing to do with the plunder complaint against the Cayetanos.
“Wala akong kinalaman kung ayaw niya maniwala wala akong magagawa,” she said. (MNS)
