MANILA, Dec 13 (Mabuhay) — President Benigno S. Aquino III joined officials and employees of the Department of Labor and Employment in commemorating the agency’s 79th Founding Anniversary held at the SMX Convention Center of the Mall of Asia in Pasay City on Thursday.

In his speech, the President cited the invaluable role of the DOLE, led by Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, for fulfilling its advocacy of bringing job opportunities to Filipinos here and abroad.

He lauded the department for its various programs to provide jobs through its Labor Market Information System that sought to provide useful information and tips for parents and students in choosing the right career path through the Public Employment Service Offices, Phil-JobNet and Skills Registry System; and the Training for Work Scholarship of TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) that offers training courses in select industries such as business process outsourcing, tourism and construction.

For our overseas Filipino workers, the President said his government would work harder to improve and provide more opportunities within the country in order for our OFWs to choose to remain and work in the country.
