President Benigno S. Aquino III came to the dinner dressed to the nines garbed in a traditional Lao blue silk shirt, dark slacks and comfy leather driving shoes looking cool and composed as he gamely chatted and shook hands with his counterparts from ASEM member-countries.

He complimented the Lao silk shirt saying it kept him warm despite the chilly atmosphere recorded in the room due to the hotel’s large air conditioning units at full blast.

The President joined the rest of the 52 Heads of State and Government together with their spouses at the close of the first day of ASEM9.

They were welcomed by President Sayasone and Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong at the lobby area before being escorted to their respective seats at the hotel’s Gala Dinner Hall.

The Gala Dinner was highlighted by a cultural presentation participated by Laotian performers. (MNS)
