Philippine Typhoon Relief Donation Drive Drop-Off Rally Set for Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Rose Bowl

Los Angeles, November 14, 2013 – Filipino American Television (FilAm TV) along with the Office of Vice-Mayor Jacque Robinson, City of Pasadena, Victory Cargo, the American Red Cross, and PNB-Remittance Centers Inc announced today that monetary donations and donations for canned goods, non-perishable food, toiletries, and clothes will be accepted for free shipment directly to the disaster areas of the Philippines.

What: DONATION DROP-OFF OF RELIEF GOODS AND MONEY

Where: The Rose Bowl in front of Gate “A” main entrance, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive, Pasadena, CA 91103

When: Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 5:00am to 7:00pm

This also is an opportunity to contribute in an alternate way by volunteering of your time, giving of clothes, canned goods, toiletries, and non-perishable food. To participate contact the volunteer coordinators listed below.

Money donations will be accepted by the American Red Cross. Make checks payable to the American Red Cross and add “Philippine Typhoon and Flood Relief” on the memo line.

Filipino American Television (FilAm TV Digital Channel 31.3, based in Pasadena, CA) will send a TV crew to capture the receiving of donations, follow the shipment of goods to the Philippines, and document the disbursement of goods to those in need. The resulting TV special documentary will later be televised on FilAm TV.

About Lead Supporters:
Vice-Mayor Jacque Robinson, City of Pasadena, home to the Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl, has shown compassion and care by being a driving force in advocating and making arrangements to support the relief efforts in the Philippines.

Victory Cargo serves the Filipino community in Southern California and Nevada with door-to-door “Balikbayan Box” delivery services to the Philippines. Victory Cargo is the lead sponsor for cargo shipments collected at the donation drive. Philippine Red Cross will receive the cargo shipments in the Philippines.

American Red Cross serves to provide disaster relief at home and abroad, CPR certification and first aid courses, blood donation, and emergency preparedness. They have consented to receive monetary donations earmarked for disaster relief in the Philippines.

PNB-Remittance Centers Inc is a money remittance company serving the Filipino-American community. They will provide FREE remittance services to the following registered charities in the Philippines: Philippine Red Cross, Gawad Kalinga, GMA Kapuso Foundation, ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya, and Caritas Manila.

Johnny Kambingan Restaurant is providing craft services for volunteers on location during the event.
