COLINA Salon, in cooperation with Colina Cosmetics, unveils the biggest make-up event of the year: “Make-up 101,” to be held on September 8, 2013, from 1pm to 7pm, at Double Tree Hotel Norwalk, 13111 Sycamore Dr., Norwalk CA 90650

Conducted by celebrity make-up guru Marlou Colina, the one-day intensive make-up workshop will cover Theory, Stage-Demo, and Class Participation.

Marlou will share the techniques and tips he has learned and amassed over the years as a stylist to Hollywood and Philippine stars, including Hunger Games star Dakota Hood, the family of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein (Lord of the Rings), actress KC Concepcion and singer Martin Nievera. He has partnered with Dr. Vicky Belo for a well-acclaimed “Beauty and the Best” talk late last year. And he hosts “Colina Salon’s Beauty Menu” at TFC’s “Adobo Nation” and “Colina’s Beauty Express” at TFC’s “Balitang America.”

“Make-up 101” includes a photo shoot with celebrity guests, a raffle of Colina Salon products (Colina Cosmetics, MC Hair Care), and a fashion show featuring make-up by Colina Salon.

The event will also celebrate the relaunching of Colina Cosmetics, with new colors and better quality. Colina Cosmetics are guaranteed true color and of professional quality, and produce long lasting results.

For Marlou, the event is an opportunity for him to share his expertise with the community, to enable them to experience the art, craft and discipline involved in make-up.

Most people are interested in how to do better make-up on themselves. Unfortunately, they follow a mishmash of tips, advice and self-experimentation that yield not-so-happy results. With “Make-up 101,” Marlou hopes to set attendees on the right track with a solid course on the basics.

Around 70 percent of the make-up is already done once the basics are mastered or at least done properly. And at “Make-up 101,” participants will learn the basics of make up up close and personal from a true master.

Seating is limited. For registration, contact Colina Salons in Los Angeles at (323) 663-5311, Long Beach at (562) 988-3101, and Rancho Cucamonga at (909) 944-8596.
