Manny Pacquiao: Was Pacquiao’s Fight Against Mosley Bad for Boxing?

Manny Pacquiao Dominated Shane Mosley, But Was It Good for Boxing?

Everyone in the arena knew that Manny Pacman Pacquiao was going to pound Shane Mosley into the canvas on Saturday night. Well maybe not pound but dominate SMM.

We just didn’t know it was going to end up like this.

Pacquiao destroyed Mosley for the entire fight, toying with him all night long as the older fighter couldn’t even hope to hang with him as the champion turned his face into a hamburger helper in front of the entire world.

Mosley was no match for Pacman and it was evident from the start of the fight. We knew that he was past his prime and that in terms of an opponent for the world’s top fighter, it wasn’t a real challenge for someone who has beaten some of the best.

Thousands of people tuned in for this fight and they were definitely disappointed with the result because all in all, it was a terrible fight to watch. No one wants to watch one guy just pound the crap out of another with no sign of resolve from the opponent.

Manny Pacquiao Shane MosleyIt was torture to watch Mosley get pounded around the ring with no sign of a comeback.

Pacquiao is the world’s greatest fighter and no one is going to take that away from him, but the reality is that he needs to start pushing himself in terms of opponents, or fans are going to stop putting down a good chunk of change to see him beat less then stellar opponents.

Pacquiao needs to start thinking out of the box and start pushing himself in the ring. I don’t think it’s too much to ask, for the champion to be pushing himself to really see if he’s the best. Even though we know he’s the best….still.

Sooner or later, we’re going to get tired of results like this.
