Left hooks will bring Margarito down in 6th or 7th – Golez

MANILA, Nov. 9 (PNA) – Boxing aficionados said that the Pacquiao vs. Margarito boxing match on Sunday, November 14 (Manila Time) will end on the sixth or seventh round with the Filipino boxing hero prevailing.

Paranaque Rep. Roilo Golez, who is a former boxer predicted that Manny Pacquiao will win on the middle part of the 12 round match saying that the Filipino has an advantage for being faster and for having a good strategy.

“Pacquiao is not only much faster but also has a good strategy…if Pacquiao can sneak in a few left hooks in the right places against Antonio Margarito, I think the fight will end within six rounds and the Mexican boxer will lose,” said the lawmaker, in a Church-based weekly forum.

Boxing fan and election lawyer Romeo Macalintal also echoed Golez’s forecast on the fight.
Although Macalintal acknowledged that Margarito is taller and has a longer reach, Pacquiao’s advantage is that he has bigger biceps, where the strong punches would come from.

“If in the first and second round of the match, Margarito doesn’t fall, I think by the sixth or seventh round, he’ll be knocked out,” the lawyer said.

The match between the two boxing greats will held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, November 13 (Sunday in Manila).
