While Kris Aquino is not closing her doors on love, the television host said she is not actively looking for one because her main priority at the moment is being a mother to her two sons.
At the sidelines of the press conference for her upcoming movie “My Little Bossings”, Aquino said she is afraid that her maternal duties might get compromised once she enters into a new relationship.
“Walang opportunity. Vic (Sotto) said the best thing kanina sabi niya he can see I’m a good mom. Siguro kung ilusyunin ko pa and i-career ko pa ang love life, baka mag-suffer ang pagiging nanay ko. Maganda naman ang nagiging resulta so okay na ‘yun,” she said.
Aquino said her second child, James “Bimby” Yap Jr., is also very strict when it comes to her love life.
“Mayroon akong friends pero we’re not interested in each other in that sense. But we like each other enough na kung gustong lumabas with friends, okay. Very strict si Bimb. ‘Yung kuya niya (Joshua Aquino) zen, pero itong maliit, ang daming permisong pagdadaanan para payagan ako,” she said.
During an episode of her morning show “KrisTV” last September, Aquino hinted that she has been entertaining a suitor, whose name was not disclosed.
“Hindi pa, text-text lang,” said Aquino, responding to “Kris TV” guest co-host Kim Chiu’s remark that she looks like she is in love. “Konting tiis ‘di ba, kasi busy. Wala akong time kaya okay na ‘yung text-text.”
Meanwhile, Aquino refused to talk about the terms of her existing contract with ABS-CBN, as well as her future career plans.
“Maraming facets dahil marami din akong… siguro nagbago lang ako as a person. There’s a part of me na hindi na kasing greedy and hindi na kasing hungry. Okay na talaga. Si Boy (Abunda) kasi ang nagsabi na ‘Make sure you have enough cash that you can walk away from anybody.’ So medyo ‘yun talaga,” she said.
As if hinting that she will eventually leave the limelight, Aquino said, “Tinone down ko ‘yung luho sa katawan, nag-tone down kami sa property. I’ve learned talaga na if I stop working tomorrow, the kids should be alive. May napuhunan na akong mga negosyo na hindi entertainment related na bubuhay naman sa kanila. Maybe not as lavish as we are now, pero we will survive.”
Asked directly if she plans to leave the television in the future, Aquino said: “Sana [makita pa rin ako] both [on TV and behind camera]. Idol ko si Oprah (Winfrey). ‘Yun ang career path na gusto ko. She’s a producer, she has her magazine, she has her own network. Hindi masamang mangarap.” (MNS)
