MANILA, July 9 (Mabuhay) – Opposition Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito on Wednesday visited Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile who’s detained at the Philippine National Police General Hospital but skipped dropping by his brother Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s detention room just a few blocks away.

Ejercito opted to forego paying his half-brother a visit as visiting hours at the PNP Custodial Center didn’t start until 1 p.m.  Ejercito was in Camp Crame before the schedule that ran up to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday.

Ejercito said he hoped to return next week to visit Estrada, saying security was tight at the custodial center.

The custodial center’s chief was recently relieved over what many perceived was special treatment given to Estrada when he was allowed to accept visitors one Saturday afternoon until Sunday 1 a.m. It was his 25th wedding anniversary.

Also detained at the custodial center is Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

After the meeting, Ejercito suggested that seats be placed outside Enrile’s room for visitors waiting their turn to meet with him.

Enrile’s son, former Rep. Jack Enrile, said goodbye to his 90-year-old father as he was heading for the United States and staying there for a month. (MNS
