The Apl.De.Ap Foundation International and the This Time Foundation International hosted the Time for Hope Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on May 18, 2013.  The event was sponsored by the Honolulu Cookie Company, One Hope Wine, Red Ribbon, Sony and Tikkun Holistic Spa.

Balita Media, Inc. was the official media sponsor and  peakPRgroup was the public relations sponsor. 

The event honorees included: Allan Pineda, a.k.a. Apl.de.ap, Black Eyed Peas recording star, and Fran Flanagan of Fran Flanagan Properties and Coldwell Banker Previews International, who both received the Spirit of Inspiration Award.  Fritz Freidman, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Publicity/Sony Pictures and Regina Manzana-Sawhney, Senior Program Manager, Corporate Engineering/Google, both received the Spirit of Humanitarianism Award.

The emcees were Mark Dacascos, television personality from “Dancing with the Stars” and chairman of the hit show, “The Next Iron Chef,” and Tamlyn Tomita, a television and movie actress, from shows like “Glee”, “Law and Order: Los Angeles”, “24”, and “Days of Our Lives”, and movies like “The Karate Kid II”, “The Joy Luck Club” and “The Day After Tomorrow”.Hollywood celebrities with Filipino roots, Tia Carrere and Lou Diamond Phillips attended the event as presenters and Black Eyed Peas singer, Fergie and her husband, Hollywood actor Josh Duhamel, showed their support by giving a video tribute to Apl.de.ap.

The event concluded with performances by Apl.de.ap, American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez, the Lilas and ukulele virtuoso and composer, Jake Shimabukuro.

Established in 2011, the Apl.de.ap Foundation International (ADAFI), together with its sister organization, the Apl.de.ap Foundation – Philippines (ADAFPH), is a non-profit that enables children in the Philippines and United States to improve their lives through education, and has built fifteen schools, a computer library, and established a music program in the Philippines.
