On March 30 at the Glendale Hilton, two aspiring Filipino Americans, Joshua “Josh” Lubrico, 18 and Michelle “Mishi” Magno, a registered nurse, 26 won the title of  Mr and Ms Century Tuna US Superbods 2014.

Josh Lubrico competed with 12 other male candidates and Mishi Magno competed with 17 other female candidates. Both winners received a cash prize of $1,000, free airfare to Manila  and hotel accommodation in Boracay for 8 days; $1000 worth of Body Sculpting Treatments courtesy of Lila Body by Leila Aquino; $1000 worth of Acu-Pampering services courtesy of Gandi Wellness Center; ShapesMeWell full clothing gear courtesy of Lila ShapesMeWell; and $200 dollars cash.  They will compete in the Century Tuna Superbods SuperChallenge 2014 in Boracay, Philippines – for a chance to win PhP 500,000 pesos cash and a one-year supply of Century Tuna products.

The runner-up winners were Holly Ann Olalia and James R. Curry.  Each one received $500 worth of Body Sculpting treatments courtesy of LILA Body, $500 worth of Acu-Pampering services from Gandi Wellness Center and ShapesMeWell shirts from LILA ShapesMeWell and $200 cash.

Presented by Century Tuna in cooperation with V Entertainment, Century Tuna  Superbods is a US-wide model search that seeks to raise the profile of young people who are into an active, healthy lifestyle and show it with a winning combination of physical beauty, stamina, confidence, intelligence and teamwork.  It also seeks the best and brightest young Filipino Americans who can become enthusiastic ambassadors of Century Tuna as it spreads its message of health and fitness – as well as its award winning high quality canned Tuna – to the US audience.

The event was hosted by Anjanette Abayari, actress, beauty queen and herself a model and co-hosted by singer Angeline Vibar.  Guest performer was Tanya Varona, a metropop “Star Search” finalist. On May 3, Tanya will open for The Commodores with Club Nouveau at Pala Casino.

The panel of judges were prominent Filipino-Americans – designer Alan Del Rosario, journalist Janet Nepales, Leila Aquino of Synergy Financials,   CFO Asian Commodities and Arko Foods Susie Fung and Trade Marketing Manager Japan Food Company Tohru Okuhara.  Also part of the panel were Century Pacific Executives who flew in from Manila for the event – Jack Lumaban and Marvin Ngo, Marketing Manager .  Beauty expert Gandi Villareal was the presentor and representatives from Synergy Financials provided the technical support as tabulators for the judges.
