After 10 years of retirement singer Helen Reddy will take center stage for two rare Los Angeles performances
Helen will make two rare appearances to benefit the Arts Program at St. Genevieve High School.
Best known as a recording artist, Helen Reddy had more than a dozen Top 40 hits in the United States.
In theater, Helen has starred in Londonâ€™s West End and on Broadway in New York. As a solo concert artist, she has played at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, as well as the Royal Albert Hall and the Palladium in London. Helen was also the first western female performer invited to sing in the Peopleâ€™s Republic of China. In film, her starring role in Disneyâ€™s Peteâ€™s Dragon continues to delight the younger generation, while the lyrics she penned for her feminist anthem â€œI Am Womanâ€ are now included in Modern American History high school textbooks. With outstanding triumphs in music, movies and the theatrical stage, you will not want to miss this rare opportunity to experience one of the worldâ€™s most talented performers; Ms. Helen Reddy in Concert.
St. Genevieve is the first high school in California and the first Catholic school in the nation to receive the prestigious National School of Character Award presented by the Character Education Partnership in Washington D.C. At the invitation of some students Helen Reddy lectured at the school in February 2010, her topic: Personal Responsibilities of Men and Women in 21st Century Society. Helen fell in love with the school during her visit. On July 13th and 14th Helen will return and this time, she will sing in order to help bring additional funding to the arts program.
St. Genevieve High School has a diverse student body with 620 students. More than 60% of St. Genevieve high school students require financial aid in order to attend the school.

That pretty much sums up Helen Reddy these days,â€ said Horn.
Helenâ€™s opening acts will be the St. Genevieve High School Jazz Band and the Valiant Voices, the schoolâ€™s award winning choir.
