MANILA, Mar 7 (Mabuhay) – Young actor Gerald Anderson admitted on Sunday that his first love was longtime on-screen partner Kim Chiu.
“First love, siyempre si Kim. She was my first love,” said Gerald.
Anderson and Chiu, both of whom were former housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother”, have long been rumored to have split up in real life although they never directly admitted that they were in a relationship.
Both young stars are now working with different on-screen partners.
For Anderson’s part, he is paired with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo in romantic-comedy movie, “Catch Me… I’m In Love.” Their movie will be screened on March 23.
Gerald gets big birthday gift from Kim
MANILA, Mar 8 (Mabuhay) – Actor Gerald Anderson shared that he received a black massage chair from his long-time on-screen partner Kim Chiu.
In a press conference for his 22nd birthday organized by Star Magic, Anderson shared that he is really happy to have received a gift from Chiu despite all that happened between them in the past.
Report has it that Anderson and Chiu allegedly broke up after Anderson courted actress Bea Alonzo.
“Actually, sabi ni Kim lahat nasa akin na kasi mahilig ako sa mga gadget, sa mga bagay-bagay. So ‘yun ang naisipan niya,” Anderson said.
“Siyempre magbibigay din ako ng regalo sa kanya, lalo na malapit na ang birthday niya at lilipat siya sa bagong bahay niya,” he said.
Chiu and Anderson never admitted that they became sweethearts. In a recent interview, however, Anderson said that Chiu was his first love.
The actor said that he is happy that he and Chiu are still good friends.
“Kung baga, marami na kaming pinagdaanang masama last year. But it’s gonna be a better road para sa aming lahat this year,” he said.
Asked if there is a chance for him and the actress to rekindle their love for each other, Anderson told abs-cbnNEWS.com: “Basta ang importante sa amin ni Kim, ‘yung friendship namin ay intact pa din. So ‘yun, okay sa akin ‘yon. Special si Kim sa akin.”
He also reacted to reports saying that cager Simon Atkins expressed his admiration for Chiu.
“Hindi na po ako nagugulat kung si Brad Pitt ay yayain si Kim kasi magandang babae si Kim. Marami pa ‘yan, hindi lang si Simon. Kumbaga kailangan lang tanggapin, mag-move on at mag-focus sa trabaho,” he said.
When asked if he feels a tinge of jealousy, Anderson replied, “Wala naman, wala.”
Anderson, who turned 22 on Monday (March 7), will celebrate his birthday with the kids from the Cancer Warriors Foundation.
The actor said his birthday wish is to have more work. “Sana marami pang projects at sana tuloy-tuloy ang blessing sa pamilya ko,” he said.
Anderson added that with all the blessings he is receiving, he gives thanks to God for being so good to him.
“I have to be thankful to God. Sobra talaga akong nagpapasalamat,” he said.
Sarah’s first kiss?
Anderson, who will star in a movie with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo titled “Catch Me, I’m In Love,” said that it will be a privilege for him to be the first actor to kiss Geronimo on-screen.
“First kiss? Siyempre sino ba naman ang may ayaw noon? It will be my privilege kung ako ang magiging first kiss niya on-screen,” he said.
Until now, Geronimo has never done a kissing scene with anyone, not even with box office king John Lloyd Cruz.
Anderson said that he really admires Geronimo for being a good artist and a good daughter.
“Oo, ina-admire ko siya, sobra. Sobra siyang professional at down to earth. Parang tao lang ang kasama ko at masarap kasama,” he said.
He also added that he was never discouraged to be close to Geronimo because of the latter’s strict parents.
“Ako, mas naa-attract ako sa ganoon, sa wholesome. Pero bata pa lang si Sarah, ganoon talaga. She’s very lucky to have parents like that,” he said.
He also shared the funny incident that pushed Geronimo to be comfortable working with him.
“Nag-start siyang mag-loosen up noong magka-eksena kami. Sobrang lapit kami sa isa’t isa. Titigan. Tapos si Sarah, hindi niya daw kaya kasi parang nahihiya. Ako, pa-cool ako. Pa-guwapo lang ako doon. Tapos take 2. Titigan kami. Tumawa siya pero sakto noong tumawa siya, tumalsik ang laway niya sa mukha ko. Papatayin talaga ako nito ni Sarah. ‘Yun, hiyang-hiya siya. Pero mula noong moment na ‘yon, mas magaan na ‘yung shooting namin,” he shared.
Produced by Star Cinema, “Catch Me, I’m In Love” will hit theaters on March 23. (MNS)
