Garcetti wins CWA endorsement Communications Workers of America, Southern California Council backs Garcetti
LOS ANGELES – Eric Garcetti earned an important endorsement today from the Communications Workers of America.
“We need to get L.A.’s economy back on track and Eric Garcetti understands how to prepare our city for the jobs of today and the future,” said T Santora, President of CWA 9003 and Political Director of CWA Southern California Council. “CWA is proud to endorse Eric Garcetti.”
“I’m running for Mayor to get L.A. back to work, so I’m especially proud to have earned the support of the Communications Workers of America,” Garcetti said. “Communications Workers play a pivotal role in our economy.”
CWA is the largest telecommunications union in the world and represents more than 700,000 telecommunications, media, manufacturing and other workers.
The CWA endorsement comes on the heels of the endorsements of Justice Carlos Moreno and more than 100 Latino community leaders, including businesspeople, non-profit leaders, political leaders, education advocates and labor leaders. Last month, more than 1,000 Angelenos took the big step of publicly announcing their support for Garcetti.
