MANILA, June 18 (Mabuhay) — “I firmly believe that Filipinos are creative, given the tools and technology they will come out with world class products and prove that they are globally-competitive”.

This was stressed by the Science Secretary Mario G. Montejo during the M & E (Metals and Engineering) Conference at Hyatt Hotel in Manila on Tuesday.

In his speech, Montejo referred to the high number of Filipino engineers who are talented.

As part of effort to boost the support for the industry for this year, the DOST has signed a memorandum of understanding among leaders of key associations such as Philippine Welding Society, Philippine Metal Casting Association, Inc. and Original Equipment Manufacturer’s Association of the Philippines.

The signing highlighted DOST’s role in uplifting the metals, electronics and engineering industries by sharing with them the manpower, expertise and other resources as program’s members.(MNS)
