Actor-host Vhong Navarro said he sees rival noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga” as an inspiration rather than competition for “It’s Showtime.”

Navarro, who co-hosts the Kapamilya noontime variety program, said that although “Showtime” and “Eat Bulaga” are aired during competing time slots, the long-running noontime show remains an inspiration for him to better his craft as a host.

Family

Now three years running, Navarro said “It’s Showtime” is an avenue for him and his co-hosts to be themselves and show their real personality on national television.

On persistent rumors pitting the show’s hosts against each other, Navarro said that while there are occasional misunderstandings, this is only normal in a “family.”

Aired weekdays and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m., “It’s Showtime” is also co-hosted by mainstays Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Kim Atienza, Jhong Hilario, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Ryan Bang and Coleen Garcia. (MNS)
