MANILA (Mabuhay) – Congressmen will each give 10,000 pesos in donation as financial assistance to victims of the armed conflict between the military and some members of the Moro National Liberation Front in Zamboanga City.

In Resolution 303 sponsored by Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II and Minority Leader Ronaldo Zamora, the lawmakers noted that the armed conflict has affected more than 82,000 people from the 15 barangays affected by the crisis.

The resolution noted that armed men took 200 civilian hostages in Zamboanga and used them as human shields.

The resolution noted the need for immediate aid and relief during this “most difficult time of strife.”

The resolution was adopted before the close of session Wednesday. Copies were made available to the media Thursday. (MNS)
