The new DTLA Night Market was launched last Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, 2014, by a team called 626 Night Market, the original Asian-themed night market here in the Unites States. DTLA Night Market featured a Pan-Asian selection of food, entertainment, arts and culture.
The 626 Night Market, spearheaded by founder, Johnny C. Hwang presents local talents in one event, along with a selection of food choices ranging from food trucks, restaurants, local artists and Asian performers. DTLA’s mission is to promote local Asian talent to the growing Asian community here.
Visitors to the DTLA Night market features around 200 food vendors, merchandise, crafts, games and entertainment attractions. It offers a variety of experience in entertainment including: popular DJ’s, muralists on the Art Walk, independent artists, a Booba Cup contest and a whole night’s celebration of fun and camaraderie with family and friends.
Founder Johnny Hwang said that the DTLA Night Market will be presented on a monthly basis during Spring, Summer anfd Fall nights.
For those interested, the next events are scheduled on: Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 – 4:00 pm – 1:00 am; Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16 – 4 p.m. – 1 a.m. and Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13 – 4 p.m. – 1 a.m. at the Santa Anita Park.
