As many as 20 finalists will vie for the prestigious Binibining Pilipinas-USA 2013 title with coronation night to be held on July 27 at the Centinela Valley Center for the Arts in Lawndale, California said a news release sent to Weekend Balita over the weekend.
The finalists – Kristine Masajo, Kathleen Bautista,Jessica Marasigan, Jessica Joan, Jasmin Miko,Kayla Marie Nadres, Carlotta Pura, Melissa Gasia, Rizza-Belen Diaz, Alexandra Drechsler, Patricia Rodriguez, Hanah Marte, Kristina Cruz, Geramie Dizon, Amyra Soriano, Arienne Calingo, Hanadi Ahmad and Melissa Jane Rodriguez (two others have yet to be named as they are still finalizing their paperwork) – have been barnstorming the city of Los Angeles and its suburbs – in places where there are Filipino events and have graced these affairs with their beauty and elegance either in fashion shows or just by their mere attendance.
They will be competing for the title along with other prizes: modeling contracts, talent development contracts with top film and television studios in the Philippines, luxury vacations in Boracay or Palawan, and much, much more, according to impressario Monet Lu.
According to pageant producer Insider Productions LLC, the Binibining Pilipinas-USA 2013 beauty pageant was “created to showcase and highlight the beauty, elegance, intellect and cultural pride of today’s young Filipina-American. BPUSA has nationally searched for those special young women in today’s Filipino-American communities who not only have the beauty, grace, style, and glamour to walk the runways of the world, but who have the dynamic personalities and intelligence that set them apart from the rest.”
Co-Executive Producer Atty. Norberto Reyes III said the winner – if she meets requirement of 6 months – may also get the chance to compete in the 2014 Binibining Pilipinas Beauty Pageant in the Philippines where the title holder gets the honor to represent the country in international beauty pageants.
In addition, Reyes said, 1st runner up winner will compete in the Miss Philippines-Earth, “which does not have a residency requirement.” Apart from Reyes, the other co-executive producer is Mildred Deang.
Expected to take part on coronation night at beauty titlists Shamcey Supsup, who also serves as spokesmodel, and Venus Raj (spokesmodel/mentor/host); Mafae Yunon-Belasco (mentor); Lee Robin Salazar (host); and the unprecedented queenmaker, Jonas Gaffud (pageant coach/consultant).
