MANILA (Mabuhay) – President Benigno Aquino III should expound on the Disbursement Acceleration Program in his State of the Nation Address, detained Senator Jinggoy Estrada said Tuesday.
The senator said Aquino just criticized the Supreme Court in his televised speech but did not provide enough explanation on the issue.
“Sana expound niya ‘yung problema sa DAP kasi kulang ‘yung mga sinabi niya last week. He was just criticizing the SC’s decision,” Estrada told reporters during a break in the hearing on his bail petition at the Sandiganbayan.
He also said that Budget Secretary Florencio Abad should release the complete list of projects under DAP.
“Dapat ilabas na si Sec. Abad ‘yung detalyadong report ng mga disbursements sa DAP,” he said.
Estrada even joked that he wanted to attend the SONA on Monday but the court might not allow him to leave his detention cell.
“Gusto ko sanang pumunta e baka hindi ako payagan ng court,” he said smiling.
Asked about the orange ribbon pinned on his polo barong, he said it signifies unity.
“The color of the President is yellow, the color of the critics is red. If you combine both colors, yellow and red, ang lalabas dun orange. Significance nun dapat meron tayong unity in the executive and judiciary,” he said.
Estrada is facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the P10-B pork barrel scam. He is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center with Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr who is also facing similar charges.
The other senator charged in connection with the pork scam, Juan Ponce Enrile, is confined at the PNP General Hospital. (MNS)
