The elected officers who will serve from Jan 1, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2015 are Jun Domingo, president; Zeny Sison, first vice president; Fely Logarta-Montecillo, second vice president; Erna Villanueva, treasurer; and Jasmin Ipapo, PRO. The secretary will be appointed later by the president-elect.
The Board members who were elected include Ruby Manangan, Joven de Guzman and Norber Umali.
The alumni officers and members are graduates of the Far Eastern University in Manila. Before the election, outgoing President, Ophel Vita-Amon reported on the association’s achievements in the previous years which include donations of feeding pumps and other medical supplies to various hospitals in the Philippines as well as conducting medical and dental missions in Olongapo City, Zambales.
Alpha Phi Omega International Service Fraternity was founded on Dec. 16, 1925 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania by Frank Reed Horton.
The ALPHA Chapter was the very first chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega Collegiate Fraternity that was established in the Philippines. It was founded by college professor Librado I. Ureta on March 2, 1950. Thereafter, the fraternity whose purpose is to develop Leadership, promote Friendship and provide Service to humanity has grown and has spread to more than 250 colleges and universities throughout the Philippines, thereby earning it the distinction as the Philippine’s premier Greek letter fraternity.
