“Galema” star Andi Eigenmann doesn’t mind playing the role of an antagonist in ABS-CBN’s upcoming fantasy series “Dyesebel.”
In a press conference, Eigenmann shared why she decided to accept the new role.
“Para sa akin hindi siya mahirap as long as I want what I’m doing. The very reason why I accepted the role was because I knew that I will enjoy it. The adjustment wasn’t a problem at all.
“Hindi ko naman tatanggapin ‘yung role kung alam kong hindi ako mapapabilang sa isang kwentong napakaganda at talagang susubaybayan ng mga manonood at kung hindi itong mga [artistang] ito na kasama ko ngayon ang makakasama ko. So parang the adjustment part isn’t supposed to be the question,” she said.
While she admitted that she also dreams of playing Dyesebel, she was quick to add that lead star Anne Curtis “more than deserves it.”
“I will be honest, lahat naman yata ng babaeng artista ay hahangaring maging Dyesebel. Pero OK lang po sa akin kung hindi because Anne more than deserves it. She is very beautiful and I know na kayang-kaya niyang bigyang katarungan ang pagsasatao kay Dyesebel.
“At the same time masaya po ako dahil ang hangad ko sa pagpasok ko sa industriya ay hindi maging bida. Ang hangad ko po sa industriya ay maibahagi ko ang kaya kong gawin and I believe in this concept, I believe in this story so I’m honored to be part of it,” she said.
Eigenmann’s “Galema,” which started September of last year, is now down to its last two weeks.
The actress said she is excited about the show’s ending. For the final episodes of the series, Galema will be fighting the transformed character of Galela played by Sheryl Cruz.
Eigenmann said she is happy that after “Galema,” she will be part of another project.
“Masaya ako na nakikita ng management kung gaano ako ka-dedicated sa trabaho ko,” she said. (MNS)
