Andi Eigenmann had just hit a high point in her career, having topbilled a primetime series, when she got pregnant with her first child at 21.
She recalled the episode as particularly painful, as she was left to deal with the situation without the baby’s father at her side.
“Syempre masakit po in the sense na nabuntis po ako, nalaman ko na no one will help me, na ‘yung father wouldn’t be there to help me,” the 23-year-old actress said.
Eigenmann was also asked if she ever considered not keeping the baby, considering the fast rise of her career then.
Eigenmann answered: “I knew that malaki ‘yung chance na mawawala ‘yung career ko, and a lot of people din siguro na minamahal ko sa buhay ko ‘pag ginawa ko ‘yung decision to keep [the baby].”
“I could have thought of a lot of reasons para maisip na huwag nalang ituloy, pero that is if I chose to be selfish,” she said.
Turning 2 in November, Eigenmann’s daughter Adrianna Gabrielle has become the actress’ inspiration in pursuing new heights in her career.
She is currently hard at work on the comedy film “Momzillas,” which opens on Wednesday; as well as her upcoming fantasy-drama series “Galema,” which premieres on September 30.
“I’m motivated because my future is right there, right in front of me, and that is Ellie,” Eigenmann said.
The young actress also spoke at length about her tumultuous relationship with Jake Ejercito, her being tagged a “relationship wrecker,” and what to expect in her back-to-back showbiz projects. (MNS)
