Hollywood designer OLIVER TOLENTINO continues to add names to the list of celebrities who have worn his couture. The latest to wear dresses by the Philippines-born Tolentino, who has boutiques on Melrose Avenue and in Makati, are actresses MAGGIE GRACE and VICTORIA JUSTICE.
Maggie Grace, recent co-star of Taken 2 with Liam Neeson and the final Twilight: Breaking Dawn movie, wore an eco dress of Tolentino’s to Global Green USA’s 13th Annual Sustainable Design Awards last December 3 in New York. Tolentino has increasingly been introducing Hollywood to his native Philippine fabrics. Grace wore a naturally-hand-dyed blue, V-neck cocktail dress with draped bodice and balloon skirt made from handwoven Manila hemp (abacá) and pineapple leaf fiber (piña) fabric.
Victoria Justice, star of Nickelodeon’s popular TV series Victorious and recent movie Fun Size, wore a red silk brocade cocktail dress with peplum to the TeenNick 2012 HALO Awards. Her look got rave reviews with Life & Style magazine picking her as one of the weekly’s “Best-Dressed Stars” in its December 10th issue, noting she was “dressed to perfection in Oliver Tolentino.” (Photo credit: Sthanlee B.
