MANILA (Mabuhay) — After admitting that she’s a lesbian, Charice is now ready to come out with a brand new look, as well as her music.
“I think doon ako sa may boots, konting make-up. Pero siyempre we are still trying to experiment kung ano ‘yung right. Kasi tinatanong nila ako kung ano ang inspirasyon ko sa mga guys and ang inspiration ko si Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. So they will try to mix it up. It’s gonna be totally different,” the 21-year-old singer said.
After coming out of the closet in a television interview, Charice said she is thrilled about coming up with a new image.
“Sobrang excited po ako kasi alam ko ‘yung ibang tao nasanay na mini-skirt, high heels, pero wala eh,” she said.
Charice revealed that a record label in Japan also gave some inputs on what her style should be.
“Basta ang sabi nila sa akin, at least sa pagka-come out ko sa kanila, sabi nila sa akin ‘at least ngayon alam na namin, hindi kami nalilito kung paano ka ima-market or everything,'” she said.
But Charice, who has been criticized for her fashion choices and changing hairstyles, stressed that she does not regret her previous looks.
“Wala akong nire-regret sa sinuot ko dati, sa mga ginawa ko dati, sa mga kilos ko. Inisip ko na lang na challenge lang ‘yon lahat para sa akin na kinailangan kong gawin lahat ‘yon,” Charice said.
Asked of what she plans to do with her old clothes, Charice said: “Doon lang po ‘yon. Memories po ‘yon sa akin and ayaw ko pong kalimutan ‘yon kasi naging parte ‘yon ng journey ko.”
Aside from her fashion style, Charice said she would also change her sound from the power ballads she had done with superstar producer David Foster to more pop and R&B.
“Kasi si Sir David more of ballads. We’re gonna move on. We will gonna do more pop-R&B. Kasi lagi kong sinasabi nahihilig ako sa mga ‘yung ibang songs na ginagawan ko ng own version ko and everything,” she said.
Charice stressed Foster knew about her sexual preference even before she made her confession. (MNS)
